Registered Dental Hygienist


Summary: Performs dental measures designed to preserve teeth and prevent the spread of oral disease by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Cleans calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums.
Performs comprehensive exam of gums to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease. In addition, feels lymph nodes under patient's chin to detect swelling or tenderness that could indicate presence of oral cancer. Feels and visually examines gums for sores and signs of disease.
Applies fluorides and other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay.
Charts conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist.
Enter treatment plan into each chart.
Administers local anesthetic agents.
Perform prophylaxis.
Render soft tissue management as outlined by the American Academy of Periodontology (scaling, root planning, incidental curettage, sub gingival irrigation and developing personalized homecare program for periodontal patients.)
Provides health education to improve and maintain oral health.
Maintain a clean and uncluttered environment in the work area.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of dentistry.
Promote treatment plans and encourage patients to begin treatment.
Monitor key indicators each day to evaluate attainment of goals. Meet or exceed company scorecard targets for Dental Hygienists.
Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

Qualifications:

Education/
Experience:
Degree from accredited program that allows to sit for licensing exam as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Plus a minimum of one year of experience in a busy dental practice. Must adhere to annual Continuing Education requirements as defined by the state board of examiners.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Dental software.
Certificates and Licenses:
Active Registered Dental Hygienist License in work state.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
